Another traffic project is about to get underway in Jacksonville.
This time it’s Dunn Avenue on the city's Northside, which will be resurfaced and improved starting Thursday.
Motorists will likely begin feeling the impact the week of January 8. That’s when lane closures are scheduled to begin.
Also known as State Road 104, the Florida Department of Transportation will be working on the area of Dunn Avenue between Biscayne Boulevard to Interstate 295, which is 3.4 miles.
Damaged drainage inlet tops will be repaired and embedded traffic signal road sensors will be replaced. Other improvements will include enhanced crosswalks, upgraded sidewalks and handicap-accessible ramps, according to FDOT.
Audible pedestrian countdown timers are also being installed at various Dunn Avenue intersections, including the one at Lem Turner Road.

The $2.5 million project is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2018, according to FDOT.
