Jacksonville and the Jaguars are cranking up the hype machine to get fans and the city excited for the first Jags home playoff game since 2000.
Thursday morning a truck filled with teal beer brewed by Anheuser-Busch arrived at EverBank Field.
The stadium’s food and beverage provider, Delaware North, is promising even more teal tidbits for the Jaguars first home playoff game in nearly two decades, including teal hamburger buns.
The teal specials will be available Sunday at the same price as regular beer and food, according to Delaware North, which is EverBank Field’s food and beverage provider.
A fun fact about Delaware North: The company – despite its name - is headquartered in Buffalo.
Meanwhile, Mayor Lenny Curry is hosting a “Bills Bustin’ Bash” Friday at Daily’s Place.
Fans are invited downtown for a Jaguars pep rally at 5 p.m. Friday before Sunday’s AFC Wild Card game against the Bills, with the gates opening at 4 p.m.
"We are incredibly proud of our Jaguars and their tremendous success this season," said Mayor Lenny Curry in an email to WJCT News. "This rally is a fun opportunity for fans to rally together to showcase our pride, love and support for our home team. Go Jags! Let's Bust the Bills!"
Jaguars fans can register in advance to attend the free pep rally at www.jaguars.com/mayorsbash.
The first 400 attendees will receive a commemorative item, according to Curry's office. The mayor is also encouraging everyone to wear their favorite Jaguars attire or colors to work on Friday.
Curry will be joined by Jaguars Owner Shad Khan as well as the ROAR and the D-Line.
Jaguars alumni from their 1999 playoff team will be in attendance to sign autographs beginning at 4:15 p.m.
The pep rally will be hosted by Jaguars Radio Host J.P. Shadrick and feature season-long video highlights from the Jags Cinema team. A Q&A with radio analyst Jeff Lageman and 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame Finalist Tony Boselli will also be held.
AFC South champion merchandise will be available for sale as well Friday.
