If you’re looking for a tourist attraction to take visiting family or friends to this holiday season, the Jacksonville Jaguars have a suggestion: EverBank Field.
Tuesday the team announced it is launching a “behind the scenes” tour of the sports and entertainment facility.
“Our new tour program gives fans and visitors to Jacksonville another way to explore the stadium, learn its history and hear the stories of great plays and special moments that have taken place at EverBank Field,” said Jaguars President Mark Lamping.
During the regular season the tours will be available on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, as well as Sundays in the offseason.
The tours run about one hour and 15 minutes and include seeing:
- The game field
- US Assure Club
- Owner’s suite
- Pressbox
- Lycomobile South End Market
- FanDuelVille
- Visitor’s locker room
- Portions of Daily’s Place
Depending on other events, some portions of the tour stops may be unavailable.
While many on the First Coast may take EverBank Field for granted, it was recently named by the Travel Channel as one of “15 Bucket List Experiences for Football Fans.”
The Travel Channel wrote of EverBank, “their stadium is noteworthy for one very large reason. EverBank Field boasts the largest video board in the NFL at a staggering 60 feet high, 362 feet long and powered by 35.5 million LED bulbs. In-game highlights never looked so good.”
The public tours are being guided by Jeff Fingland, who manages the Champions Club for the Jaguars, which is made up of fans dedicated to assisting the team as community ambassadors.
Fingland is an original member of the club and a 20-year Jaguars season ticket member. He’s now a full-time member of the front office.
Tickets run $15 for the tour with discounts available for children, military members, seniors and first responders, according to Fingland.
Additional information is available on the Jaguars website, including tickets and tour times.
