The Nassau County planning and zoning board has formed a separate subcommittee focusing on a section of the county west of I-95.
Five planning and zoning board members who live in the western area are on the committee. They’re charged with discussing the future of the area related to planning and working with the economic opportunity department.
The committee plans to work on what’s called the Western Nassau Heritage Preservation Project, for the next two years to form a vision plan and policies for county commissioners to consider.
The committee is looking for community input and plans to update the community along the way.
The committee has been meeting since March and will have its next meeting on Tuesday Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. at the Callahan Library.
