Jacksonville’s annual Veterans’ Day Parade kicked off from TIAA Bank Field at 11:01 Monday morning.
Among Monday’s more than 4,000 participants was Jacksonville-native, Retired Air Force Technical Sergeant Bernard S. Reed Sr.
“I served in Vietnam 1972, 1974 and 1975. I was on the 130’s, crew chief on the 130-Gun Ships,” Reed said, adding that he was on the transport that took the troops in and brought supplies out.”
Monday’s parade started at the stadium and will end at the Prime Osborn Convention Center.
All city offices are closed today in honor of Veterans’ Day.
