More than 40 disabled veterans from Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando and South Florida got to enjoy the ocean and some surfing Sunday thanks to volunteers.
The Jacksonville-based Wounded Warrior Project joined together with the Oceans of Hope Foundation on Father's Day in New Smyrna Beach to give the vets a chance at catching a few waves.
Oceans of Hope offers adaptive ocean access for individuals with limited mobility while Wounded Warrior helps veterans with physical or mental injuries get back on track with a variety of resources.
