St. Johns County is hosting a public workshop Thursday on what’s called the St. Johns River-to-Sea Loop, a 260-mile multi-use trail in the works.
When it’s finished, it’ll be the longest multi-use loop trail in the Southeast — and about 40 miles of it will run through St. Johns County, St. Augustine, and St. Augustine Beach.
The Loop will connect several major trail networks, including the 3,000-mile East Coast Greenway, which connects the entire eastern seaboard, and the 250-mile Coast to Coast Connector trail that links Titusville to St. Petersburg..
During Thursday’s public workshop, the county will give a progress update and talk about an ongoing planning study. During the meeting, the public will get the chance to offer feedback and learn about potential next steps.

For more information on the trail, or to provide input, contact Rodney Cooper at 904-209-0111 or via email at RCooper@SJCFL.us.
The meeting is scheduled to run from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and will be held at the Solomon Calhoun Community Center at 1300 Duval St. in St. Augustine.
