More than 50 organizations have signed up to recruit employees at a veterans and military spouses job fair that will be held Thursday, Feb. 27, at TIAA Bank Field.
DAV and RecruitMilitary are hosting the fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Transitioning military, National Guard members and reservists are also invited.
At last check more than 400 people had signed up to attend.
More than 1.4 million veterans live in Florida, according to the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University.
The university estimated unemployment among veterans is 6.2% in Florida, which more than double the rate among the general workforce. The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity said Florida’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3% in December.
