The Jacksonville Jaguars have kicked off a season-long campaign aimed at getting Floridians to vote.

Called Get in the Game, the campaign starts with a video that includes Head Coach Doug Marrone,  quarterback Gardner Minshew II and other players, which advocates that fans register to vote by the October 5 deadline.

“You can look at voting as a privilege, and as a naturalized U.S. citizen, you can be assured that I do,” said Jaguars Owner Shad Khan in an email to WJCT News.  “But I also see it as a civic responsibility.  If we’re serious about being better in our communities and throughout our nation, and all voices being heard and respected, we have to participate in the electoral process.  No exceptions."

The Get in the Game campaign will continue through Election Day on Nov. 3. Following the deadline to register, players and coaches will shift their call to action to voter turnout.

The Jaguars will celebrate voting on game day on Oct. 18 when they host the Detroit Lions at TIAA Bank Field, the day before early voting begins in Florida.

Links to county voter registration sites, along with candidate information and local, state and national political news, is on WJCT’s 2020 Elections page.
