If you want to get a flu shot, Florida Blue is offering free drive-thru vaccination clinics at the St. Johns Town Center and the Winston Family YMCA through December.
The clinics will be open at 4855 Town Center Pkwy. and 221 Riverside Ave. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 21, Nov. 4, Nov. 14, Nov. 18, Dec. 5 and Dec. 9.
Flu shots are being made available to everyone three and older at no-cost, even if they have another health insurance carrier or no health insurance coverage at all. People with health insurance should bring their insurance cards with them.
In addition to the flu shots, these clinics will offer vaccinations for Hepatitis A and B, Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis, often referred to as the whooping cough), MMR (measles, mumps and rubella), pneumonia and shingles. These additional vaccinations are free with most health insurance plans but can be bought by those who are not covered or who do not have insurance.
Pharmacies can usually only give flu shots to people 18 or older but an emergency order signed by Florida Surgeon General Scott Rivkees allows pharmacies to give the vaccine to children three and older at most pharmacy locations through June 2021.
Adults who get a flu shot at the Florida Blue Center will get a $10 Walgreens gift card, as long as they remain available.

Doctors say getting a flu shot is always important, but especially this year as COVID-19 continues to be a major health concern.
Masks are required at the clinics and participants are being asked to wait in their car for the Walgreens pharmacist to come to them.
