A former Kmart at 1501 Normandy Village Parkway in West Jacksonville will become U-Haul Moving & Storage.
The city issued a permit Dec. 8 for Scherer Construction of North Florida LLC to convert 75,522 square feet of space at the former discount store into what will become a self-storage center and truck rental showroom at a cost of $481,539, according to WJCT News partner the Jacksonville Daily Record.
It appears to be the first phase. Plans specify that the almost 95,000-square-foot building will comprise warehouse, self-storage, other storage and mercantile space.
