The Duval County Public Schools district is adjusting its timeline for notifying the public about new COVID-19 cases.
The way it has worked, cases were only posted to the tracking dashboard after they were confirmed by the Florida Department of Health.

Starting Wednesday, Jan. 13, school officials said they’ll add cases at the same time they report them to the state.
The change, according to the school district, will give families a better idea of just how many coronavirus infections are impacting their school community.
It will also result in an unusually high number of new cases right out of the gate since the district will be adding all of the cases that are currently pending with the state.
This is the second modification the district has made to the process.
