Tuesday, Jan. 19, is the last day to sign up for a slot on Nassau County’s COVID vaccine wait-list.

County residents over 65 and others eligible for the vaccine can register at OneNassau.com by clicking on the COVID vaccine button. When vaccine doses become available, the Eventbrite system will randomly select from people on the waitlist, lottery style.

Nassau officials said the new system is meant to reduce the frustration of trying to grab open slots as soon as a new window opens. All appointments were claimed within three minutes on the first day they were available. The next day, all 400 appointments were claimed in one minute.

Those who are randomly selected for an appointment will be contacted via email from Eventbrite.
