White House advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci is recommending that people wear two face masks to better protect themselves and each other from the coronavirus.
Doctor Jeff Goldhagen at UF Health Jacksonville told First Coast Connect host Melissa Ross Wednesday that he’s been wearing two masks from the get-go.
“This is all about doing 2 things: One, stopping the spread to others and two, preventing the intake of the virus directly from others. So yes, two masks do work better than one. I personally always wear 2 masks.”
Goldhagen said whether you wear one or two face masks, the key to maximizing protection is to get a good fit so that the air you breathe is coming through the mask, not from around it.
Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Tuesday night an additional 307,000 vaccine doses are due to arrive in Florida next week for distribution.
