Gas prices have jumped 11 cents over the past week, bringing the average price at the pump for regular unleaded to $2.72 a gallon in Florida.

According to the AAA auto club, gas prices have gone up 53 cents a gallon since January 1. AAA analysts say they could go up another 10 cents a gallon in the next day or two.

The factors driving the increases include lower gas supplies, rising demand and the switch to the more expensive summer-blend gasoline.

The average price of regular unleaded in Jacksonville is around $2.68 a gallon, making it one of the three metro areas with the lowest gas prices in Florida.
