The Carver Center in Jacksonville Beach is opening a COVID-19 vaccination site for ten days starting on Sunday, March 14.
The Carver Center site will follow Florida’s eligibility guidelines, which at the time of this story’s publication applies to anyone 65 and up, along with Health care personnel with direct patients, K-12 school employees 50 and up, along with sworn law enforcement officers 50 and up.
The center at 777 5th Avenue South will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Recipients will be offered a choice of the Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Recipients that choose the Pfizer shot will return three weeks later to the same location for a second shot.
Gov. Ron DeSantis has announced earlier this week the general age requirement will be lowered to 60 and up on March 15.
The site is being launched through a partnership with the City of Jacksonville Emergency Preparedness Division, Florida Division of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
