The Jacksonville Transportation Authority is offering free 1-day passes to anyone who wants a ride to a COVID-19 vaccination site in Jacksonville.

“Through this program and our Wellness on Wheels partnership, the JTA is doing our part to ensure transportation is not a barrier to accessing this critical vaccine in Jacksonville,” said Nathaniel P. Ford Sr., CEO of the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA).

More than 2,000 vaccines have been administered through the Wellness on Wheels Program as of April 7th, according to JTA.

The free 1-day passes, which are valued at $4.25, are available through the Token Transit website, the MyJTA mobile app or in person at the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center (JRTC) at LaVilla Ticket Center, located at 100 LaVilla Center Drive.

“$4.25 may not seem like a lot of money to you and me, but I guarantee for that Mom, that single parent, the person who's maybe struggling with income during these difficult times, it represents the removal of a barrier to get that vaccine, and maybe they otherwise would not have that ability to do so,” said David Cawton, JTA’s Communications Director.
