Jacksonville-based CSX announced Wednesday it’s buying a trucking company that specializes in hauling liquid chemicals.
Railroad executives said buying Quality Carriers will enable CSX to offer chemical makers a combination of rail and trucking services.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to CSX, Tampa-based Quality Carriers employs around 2,500 drivers and has a network of more than 100 terminals in Mexico, Canada and the U.S.
