CarParts.com will be opening a 180-square-feet distribution center in Northwest Jacksonville next year that will result in 150 new full-time jobs.

The Jacksonville facility in the 660 hundred block of Pritchard Road will include state-of-the-art equipment and technology, allowing for the expansion of several auto part categories; including mechanical, replacement and CAPA-certified collision parts.

CAPA is a nonprofit independent testing and certifying authority for replacement automotive parts.

"The Jacksonville distribution center will let us cover 55% of the country with 1-day shipping and over 98% of the country with a 2-day transit time including both the Miami and Atlanta metropolitan areas,” said CarParts.com's Chief Operating Officer David Meniane in a Tuesday news release.

The Jacksonville warehouse will be CarParts.com’s sixth distribution center, adding to the online auto parts company’s more than 1-million-square-feet of warehouse space nationwide.

"The city of Jacksonville is perfectly positioned to support the massive southeastern market and our new warehouse will play a key role in helping us keep its drivers on the road with confidence," Meniane said.

The Jacksonville announcement comes as the company also announces an expansion of its Grand Prairie, Texas location. CarParts.com says the two new facilities will support the company's annual compounded growth target of 20% to 25%.

"Jacksonville is experiencing tremendous growth and we are happy to welcome yet another outstanding company. We look forward to a long and prosperous partnership with CarParts.com," said Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry.

CarParts.com has delivered more than 50 million parts and is headquartered in Torrance, Calif.
