Another child has died from a gunshot as the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office tries to determine the circumstances around the 6-year-old girl's death early Thursday.
She was in her home in the 7000 block of Linda Drive with her mother and two other children when it was called in to police and rescue personnel about 7 a.m., the Sheriff's Office said. She was shot in the head.
The gun is believed to have belonged to a parent, according to the Sheriff's Office, but there were no details early in the investigation about who fired it, where it was being stored or whether the child may have shot herself.
