HCA adds its name to Orange Park and Memorial health centers

Right on time at 11:30 Thursday morning, four Jacksonville firefighters on the roof of Memorial Hospital Jacksonville pulled up the ropes on a black tarp that hung over the edge, revealing the hospital's new name: HCA Florida Memorial Hospital.

Just a half-hour earlier, Orange Park Medical Center also unveiled its new name: HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital.

The hospitals' CEOs said the new names are intended to show that the two hospitals are part of a large statewide network of health care providers. HCA Healthcare, based in Nashville, Tenn., says it has 11,000 doctors across 450 facilities in Florida, including hospitals, physician practices, freestanding emergency rooms and urgent-care centers.
