The approval last September of a $26.7 million incentive package for restoring the Laura Street Trio came with a blast of fanfare for reviving the buildings that rose up in downtown after the Great Fire of 1901.
But the future of the historic buildings has returned to the old familiar pattern of new beginnings turning into false starts.
Construction should have begun months ago, but nothing has happened and there is no timeline for when any work will occur.
