As the chief executive of a local public health organization, it was somewhat ironic when Dawn Emerick started feeling like job-related stress was starting to affect her health.A high profile Jacksonville executive, Emerick was beginning to feel like her the grinding schedule she kept as CEO of the Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida was taking a toll on her health.
Emerick dialed back her hours and responsibilities, but she still couldn’t find that elusive work-life balance.
Emerick stepped down, and now she’s beginning a new professional chapter, one she says won’t be ruled by what she calls the “golden handcuffs” of a high-salary, high-stress position that leaves no time for family, hobbies, or just about anything outside of the job.
Emerick joined Melissa Ross to discuss the road ahead.
