Senior Citizens in St. Johns County may be eligible for free safety renovations to their homes.

Through the St. Johns County Falls Prevention Coalition, residents 65 or older can call for a free safety assessment and then receive modifications, like grab bars for bathrooms to lower their risk of falling.

According to the National Council on Aging, falling down is the leading cause of death from injury among Florida’s senior citizens.

Those interested can call the Council on Aging’s Care Connection to set up an appointment at 904-209-3648. The consultation and many modifications are provided free of charge to residents.
