The old two-tone Jaguars helmets are out. Teal pants are in.
“I wanted to see the return of tradition, I wanted to see the distinctiveness, I wanted the shiny black helmet with a beautiful Jaguars logo,” said Executive Vice President of Football Operations Tom Coughlin in a video at Thursday’s annual State of the Franchise meeting.
The new uniforms feature bold numbers and feature “Jax” on the front of the helmets.
An all-teal uniform – including pants – was also revealed that could be worn up to three times this season.
Jaguars spokesman Brian Sexton said the uniforms are called “Nike Vapor Untouchable.”
Sexton said the goal for the new uniforms is to
connect the 2018 team “with the teams of our early history.”
