Attorneys for the families of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd are calling for justice in the recent high-profile deaths.
Arbery was killed in February in Brunswick, Ga,. by a father and son who were attempting a citizen’s arrest. The pair, along with a third man, were arrested and charged with murder months after his death, when a video of the killing was publicly circulated.
Tallahassee-based civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump calls the violence a state of emergency that must be addressed. “We will see another unjustifiable, unnecessary, senseless killing of another unarmed non-threatening African American at the hands of people who are police or pretend to be police.”
