Florida Obamacare enrollment increased sharply in December: Obama administration officials say more than 140,000 Floridians signed up last month for health insurance using the federal online marketplace, a nearly 10-fold increase from the first two months. (Florida Today)

Retired Tampa cop charged with murder in movie theater shooting: Former Tampa Bay Police Department captain Curtis Reeves, 71, is charged with second-degree murder after allegedly shooting 43-year-old Chad Oulson during trailers before a screening of Lone Survivor at the Group 16 theater in Wesley Chapel.
