04/16/15: Darkness To Light Coalition; Parkinson's Symposium; 5 & Dime Theatre; Kerry Speckman

As the nation marks Child Abuse Prevention Month, several Northeast Florida organizations, including the YMCA, the Monique Burr Foundation, the Jacksonville Children’s Commission and WJCT, have partnered to form the Darkness to Light Stewards for Children Coalition. The group is working to train 50,000 adults to develop the skills to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. We speak with Tammy Miller, VP of Risk Management, and Linda Burr, Lead Trainer, for YMCA of Florida’s First Coast.

We learn about UF Health's upcoming Parkinson's Symposium and the 2nd annual First Coast Parkinson's Run from Dr. Odinachi Oguh, Director of Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Center at UF Health Jacksonville, and Jennifer Otero and John Hollinger of the First Coast Parkinson's Run.

5 & Dime Theatre founder Lee Hamby and playwright Al Letson join us to preview their production of "John Coffey Refuses to Save the World" at MOSH.

And we look at all of the weekend's biggest events with Jacksonville Magazine's Kerry "The Specktator" Speckman.
