12/1/2017: Media Roundtable; Art & Antique Show-Jax Truckies Food Truck Championship; Song Book

Friday on First Coast Connect we held our weekly Media Roundtable with Florida Times-Union reporter Dan Scanlan, Florida Politics reporter A.G. Gancarski, Folio Weekly editor Claire Goforth and WJCT business analyst John Burr (01:07).

We heard about this weekend’s Art and Antique Show with Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital board member Robin Albaneze and Saturday’s Jax Truckies Food Truck Championship with Chriss Brown of 927 Events and owner of food truck Mr. Potato Spread Laquitta Spann (33:09).         

We had a preview Saturday Night’s Song Book Showcase with co-founder Pamela Bryant and performer Cheech Forain (46:00).   

Media Roundtable

Our panel talked about the surprising proposal for the possible privatization of JEA. Attorney John Morgan’sannouncement to leave the Democratic party but not close the door on an independent run for governor and the reveal that the state has spent out about $11 million the past 30 years to settle sexual harassment suits.           

Art and Antique Show - Jax Truckies Food Truck Championship

It’s the 41st year of theArt and Antique Show, which benefits Wolfson Children’s Hospital. It runs Friday through Sunday at the Prime Osborn Center and features over 40 arts and antiques dealers from around the country and Europe. The annual Jax Truckies Food Truck Championship is being held noon - 4 p.m. at and around Hemming Plaza and will include tasting contest with celebrity judges, including our own Melissa Ross, and food trucks from across the city.   

Song Book Festival

Song Book provides resources for local musicians and includes a bi-annual songwriter’s  showcase.  Saturday’s event will be held 7 pm. at Night Hawks.
