The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a gruesome crime that happened early Friday morning on Jacksonville’s Northwest side.
Police said an individual was beaten severely, tied up and dragged for about two blocks behind a minivan. Some of the attack was caught on camera but police say it is too horrific to be released.
WJCT News partner News4Jax reported multiple people said the victim is transgender, while the victim's brother identified his sibling as a gay man. WJCT News partner The Florida Times-Union reported the victim is a transgender woman, attributing that to LGBT activists.
