Former Vice President Joe Biden started Wednesday with even more momentum, with big Democratic presidential primary wins across the First Coast, as well as the entire state of Florida, along with Illinois and Arizona.
With 99% of precincts reporting Wednesday morning, Biden had 61.9% of the Florida vote compared to 22.8% for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
The numbers were similar in Northeast Florida.
The former vice president had 66.31% in Duval County, with Sanders managing 23.51%.
Sanders did slightly better in St. Johns County with 23.63%, but Biden still took a commanding win with 63.53%.
Clay County Democrats gave Biden 61.44% of the vote, leaving Sanders with 25.52%, while in Nassau County Biden received 65.31% compared to 18.41% for Sanders.

After three straight weeks of lopsided multi-state losses to Biden, Sanders is now "having conversations with supporters to assess his campaign," according to a top aide.
“The big story coming out of last night was Joe Biden. It was a dominant win. It started two weeks ago on Super Tuesday, it continued last week. And last night, nearly doubling, in fact more than doubling the delegate total, has given him a very strong lead in the race,” said Jacksonville University Public Policy Institute Director Rick Mullaney on Wednesday’s First Coast Connect with Melissa Ross.
