Candidate Forums Set For April 18 In 5 Jacksonville City Council Runoffs

Candidate forums will be held on April 18 in advance of early voting, which begins April 29 for Jacksonville's May 14 runoff elections.

The Jacksonville Public Library along with the League of Women Voters Jacksonville/First Coast are hosting the forums at three libraries. All of them start at 6:30 p.m. on April 18. 

Local news media, including WJCT, are providing moderators for the discussions. Voters are encouraged to submit questions by April 8 for the candidates by using this form.

Southeast Regional Library:

At–Large Group 3 (Countywide race)  - Invited: Tommy Hazouri (D) and Greg Rachal (R) 

Moderated by Jessica Palombo, news director, WJCT

Highlands Regional Library

At-Large Group 1 (Countywide race) - Invited: Lisa King (D) and Terrance Freeman (R) 

AND

District 8 (Parts of Northwest Jacksonville) - Invited: Ju'Coby Pittman (D) and Tameka Holly (D)

Moderated by Charles Griggs, Eighth & Whitner group president, Jacksonville Free Press columnist, and WJCT's First Coast Connect with Melissa Ross contributor

Webb Wesconnett Regional Library:

District 10 (Parts of Northwest Jacksonville) - Invited: Brenda Priestly Jackson (D) and Celestine Mills (D)

AND

District 14 (Part of Jacksonville's Westside) - Invited: Randy DeFoor (R) and Sunny Gettinger (D)

Moderated by Tim Gibbons, editor-in-chief, Jacksonville Business Journal

The deadline to register to vote in the runoff election is Monday, April 15. May 8 is the deadline to request a mail-in ballot.
