Cannabis 2020; IdeaFest; Self-Help Credit Union

New rules went into effect this month on the sale of CBD products in Florida.

Meanwhile, facing a February deadline, the group Make It Legal Florida is continuing to push for a recreational marijuana legalization amendment for the November ballot. At last check the group had  collected 211,956 of the 766,200 signatures needed.

Attorney Sally Kent Peebles and Folio writer Shelton Hull joined us to discuss what’s going on with cannabis in Florida.

IdeaFest

Smart North Florida wants to hear your ideas on improving our community. The group's project, IdeaFest, is an opportunity to imagine becoming a smart community and what that could mean for the area.

The group has identified seven areas in which data sharing, technology and collaboration can make a difference: Safety, Mobility, Energy/Climate, Opportunity for All, Economic Growth, Education and Health.

Jeff Sheffield, Executive Director at North Florida TPO joined us to explain how area residents can help.

Self-Help Credit Union

 Self-Help Credit Union is a community development nonprofit designed to bring fair and affordable financial services to those not well served by others.

Tom Larson with Self-Help Credit Union joined us to explain how the company supports building financial capability, pathways to home ownership, and family prosperity.
