The U.S. and the state flag will be flown at half-staff across Florida Wednesday in remembrance of all those who have died of the coronavirus during the past year.
Governor Ron DeSantis issued the memorandum Tuesday saying, “we must remember all those lost so that we may move forward.”
Flags will remain lowered from sunrise to sunset at all state and local buildings, installations, and grounds.
The Florida Department of Health reported Tuesday that 31,135 Floridians have died from COVID-related illnesses. An additional 561 non-residents have died in the state. To date, there have been 1,918,100 documented COVID-19 cases in Florida.
