Here’s Where to See July 4th Fireworks Around The First Coast

This 4th of July the city of Jacksonville is expanding its fireworks show to six locations around town.

A city crew prepares the former Jacksonville Landing site for the 4th of July fireworks display with social distancing signs and painted circles so spectators will have an easier time keeping their distance from one another.

City crews were putting up social distancing signs and painting social distancing circles Thursday on the new city lawn at the site of the former Jacksonville Landing to prepare for the Downtown display.

In addition to the Downtown fireworks, this year the city will be launching displays at 9:45 p.m. from:

The St. Johns Town Center
Northside: FSCJ North Campus
Southside: The Avenues Mall
Westside: Normandy/Lem Merrett Park
Arlington: Ed Austin Regional Park

Earlier this month Mayor Lenny Curry announced this year there would be displays across the city so people can spread out.

“We want to ensure those locations offer great vantage points but will allow for proper social distancing while we celebrate the birth of our nation,” Curry said on June 4.

Spectators who head to the city lawn at the site of the former Jacksonville Landing will find social distancing signs and circles to help them spread out.

The Jumbo Shrimp are also hosting a socially distanced fireworks display along with a movie on the high-definition video screen at 121 Financial Ballpark.

While Jacksonville is expanding its fireworks display, some First Coast area communities have canceled theirs. WJCT News partner The Florida Times-Union has a rundown of the displays and other holiday events that are and aren’t taking place around the First Coast.
