Intuition Ale Works is releasing a new lager in partnership with Jacksonville’s Historic Eastside Community Development Corporation.
The lager, which is called Outeast, will be released - and available exclusively in Intuition’s tap room - on June 8. For every pint of Outeast Lager sold, $1 will be donated to the Historic Eastside CDC. The partnership will help the community development corporation's mission of preserving the history of Jacksonville's Eastside community, and enhancing the quality of life of its residents.
“The Historic Eastside CDC was developed to act as a liaison and resource for the transformation and preservation of the Eastside neighborhood. So this is really great conscious partnership will go a long way in assisting us in that initiative,” said Suzanne Pickett, the President and CEO of the Historic Eastside CDC on Monday’s First Coast Connect With Melissa Ross
Intuition’s founder and owner Ben Davis also appeared on Monday’s program. He explained how he brewed up the idea for Outeast Lager. “I mean, we're big fans of lagers at Intuition, sometimes overlooked style, in the craft beer world. And we’ve just been working on one for a couple months. And when this kind of whole thing took place, as far as an opportunity to raise some funds for a great organization, it was a no-brainer to do a style that would do well this summer, and then also in the fall. So that's kind of why we went with it,” said Davis.
He described the beer as crisp with a malty and mild flavor. The lager will be available exclusively in Intuition’s taproom at 929 E. Bay Street, starting at 3pm on Tuesday, June 8, and will become part of its permanent draft lineup.
On a related note, the Khan Family and the Jaguars Foundation, recently announced a $1 million donation to LIFT JAX and its work with the CDC.
LIFT JAX was founded in 2017 as a way to help the Historic Eastside Community Coalition. LIFT JAX and the Historic Eastside CDC have been working together to revitalize the Eastside community.
