Jacksonville City Councilwoman Ju’Coby Pittman Hospitalized With COVID-19

News4Jax

Family and friends of Jacksonville City Councilwoman Ju’Coby Pittman are asking for prayers as she battles COVID-19.

WJCT News partner News4Jax learned Monday that she has been hospitalized and is in an intensive care unit. It’s unclear how she contracted the virus.

Pittman represents District 8 in Jacksonville and is also the CEO of the Clara White Mission, which provides social and professional services to the city’s underserved communities and homeless veterans.

Jacksonville City Council President Sam Newby sent WJCT News the following statement about Pittman's hospitalization:

My thoughts and prayers are with Council Member Ju'Coby Pittman and her family during this time of illness. I KNOW God to be a healer and I trust God will heal my dear colleague completely. We have so much more work to do! God is Able!

Mayor Lenny Curry said Tuesday afternoon that Pittman is "doing much better, adding: "We have great physicians, great medical care in this community - in this city - and they're doing their job and I would just encourage people to join me in praying for her."
