A Jacksonville Beach man who went viral during Hurricane Matthew in 2016 is raising money for Hurricane Dorian relief efforts.
The viral flag waving, shirtless man, Lane Pittman, is best known for headbanging to the band Slayer during Hurricane Matthew. His video has racked up more than 4 million views on YouTube, and he's been producing hurricane headbanging videos ever since.
He was in Arlington Wednesday morning with plans to head to the Carolinas, when First Coast Connect with Melissa Ross caught up with him. He said Dorian didn’t look “headbanging worthy” locally.

“I’m going to go up there and get it when it’s at its peak and make a headbanging video, put it out there for people to get a laugh at,” Pittman said.
Pittman, who has gained national media attention, said the money he has raised has gone to help the Panhandle recover from Hurricane Michael and the Carolinas recover from Florence. WJCT News has not independently confirmed how the fundraising money has been distributed.
His current Hurricane Dorian GoFundMe effort had raised $700 at last check. Pittman’s YouTube channel is located here.
