Many children looking for a home will get one this year because of a First Coast holiday tradition. The "Home for the Holidays" mass adoption event placing many local children into loving homes will take place Friday, December 20.

Event organizer and Jacksonville Circuit Judge David Gooding and Michelle Weisheit of adoption specialist with Jacksonville-based child advocacy group Family Support Services joined Melissa Ross for more on the event.

At the event, which has become a holiday tradition over several years, Gooding finalizes the adoption of numerous children so they can spend Christmas with their "forever family."

The kids come from the foster care system and range in age from one to 18-years-old. Several sibling groups will be adopted this year.
