The NBA is coming back to Jacksonville. Mayor Alvin Brown announced on Tuesday the Orlando Magic and recently renamed New Orleans Pelicans will play a preseason exhibition game at Veterans Arena.
The game will be played on October 9.
Brown says the game will offer Jacksonville the opportunity to showcase the city to basketball fans.
It’s the first time Jacksonville has hosted an NBA preseason game since 2008.
Brown says the game will also feature a salute to members of the military and veterans from the First Coast.
Tickets are on sale at Veterans Memorial Arena or at JaxEvents.
