No Plans? No Problem! Things To Do This Weekend On The First Coast

Classical music, classic comedy and some 'lovely' art are on display this weekend on the First Coast.

Friday, February 7 — Tonight the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra pays tribute to Fabio Mechett's 14 years as music director and principal conductor. The honorary event will not only include a reception dinner but performances by the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra as well as guest pianist Arnaldo Cohen and violinist Elmar Oliveira of the JSA. Saturday, February 8 — Can't get enough? Head to the Times-Union Center at 8 p.m. to listen to the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Fabio Mechett perform Mozart's comic opera, The Marriage of Figaro. Ticket info at JaxSymphony.org

Saturday, February 8 — Baton down the hatches! Pirates are taking over Lynch's Irish Pub from 3 to 9 p.m. for Void Magazine's 3rd Annual Jaxparilla. More info on Facebook.

Saturday, February 8 — WAPE 95.1 and Suite Jacksonville host the 2014 Bitter Ball with special guest Brody Jenner of Keeping Up with the Kardashians fame. Event starts at 9 p.m., 21 and up only. More info at Eventbrite.

Sunday, February 9 — Come together for "Love is All You Need: A Pop Up Art Show," work centered around love, or the lack of love. Live music, food and local artists at the Aasrdwolf Brewery from 5-9 p.m. More info on Facebook.
