Wednesday is Holocaust Remembrance Day and Jewish Family & Community Services in Jacksonville is offering virtual tours of its gallery on Jan. 27 to mark the occasion.

The Frisch Family Holocaust Memorial Galleryhelps tell the Holocaust story, which is important since some people - especially younger ones - don’t really know much about it.

Curator Hope McMath said Tuesday on First Coast Connect with Melissa Rossthat this particular exhibit touches on themes, like faith and motherhood, that a lot of people can relate to.

“What it means to be a woman, sustenance through food, we all can relate to those themes, but to specifically to look at those concepts through the lenses of women during the holocaust; there are just profound stories being told through this exhibition.”

To look around the Frisch gallery, sign up here for one of Wednesday's two live, virtual tours. To hear the full interview with McMath listen to Tuesday's First Coast Connect with Melissa Ross, which encores at 8 p.m. on WJCT 89.9.
