Voter Reform Controversy; Generation W; Local Mask Mandate; Uptown Swinery

Civil rights groups have filed a federal lawsuit against Georgia’s new voting law.  

Critics say the law makes it harder for people Other states, including Florida, are looking at new voter reform laws, as well.

Abdelilah Skhir, Voting Rights Policy strategist of the ACLU, one of the groups involved with the suit, joined us with more.  

Generation W

Big names, including Billie Jean King, will speak at this month’s Generation Wconference in Jacksonville. For more, we had Generation W founder Donna Orender on to talk about the event, and how it will be different this year, due to the pandemic.

Local Mask Mandate

A number of local cultural institutions, and the unions representing stagehands and musicians in Northeast Florida, have announced that they will maintain their COVID-19 protocols for the time being.  This includes WJCT Public MediaNuma Saisselin, CEO of The Florida Theatre, joined us to explain why. 

Uptown Swinery

Many restaurants are starting to rebound after a challenging year in the pandemic. As we keep tabs on the local ones, we're taking a look at a new St Augustine eatery.  It’s called Uptown Swinery. We had general manager Katrina Hammock tell us about it.
