Walmart Announces Plans To Build 7 Health Centers In Jacksonville

Walmart announced Sept. 17 it would build seven Walmart Health clinics in Jacksonville, with the first opening in early 2021.

WJCT News partner the Jacksonville Daily Record reported the global retailer announced July 22 it would enter the Florida market with clinics in Jacksonville. The Sept. 17 blog post said it could add locations in Orlando and Tampa, too.

Plans for three Jacksonville clinics already have been filed with the city and the St. Johns River Water Management District for Walmart Supercenters at 6830 Normandy Blvd. in West Jacksonville, 7075 Collins Road in Southwest Jacksonville and 1580 Branan Field Road in Middleburg appear,

The Normandy addition is 7,650 square feet and the Collins and Middleburg expansions are 6,500 square feet.

Walmart did not say where in Jacksonville the seven clinics would be located. The health centers are constructed next to existing Walmart Supercenters.

There are 18 Walmart Supercenters in the Jacksonville area, including Nassau, Clay and St. Johns counties.
