The president of the direct-support organization affiliated with Hope Florida said Tuesday that mistakes were made with the nonprofit’s failure to file required tax documents and other records.

Concerns about overdose deaths caused by a synthetic opioid called fentanyl are growing. That’s partly because it’s become seemingly common for dealers to mix fentanyl into other drugs. Now a measure to require hospitals to test for fentanyl when a person comes in with a suspected drug overdose is poised for the floor in both chambers. Margie Menzel reports.

With Spring Break coming to a close in Florida, some local governments are frustrated with the way spring breakers have treated their communities. Adrian Andrews reports, despite extra assistance from state law enforcement, some beach towns say they’re ready to get out of the spring break business.
