About 8,000 undocumented students graduate from Florida high schools each year. Starting next fall, many of them will no longer be eligible to enroll in the state’s public colleges and universities under a new Board of Governors rule. One student who knows what’s at stake is Alexander Vallejos, a University of Central Florida student who was detained by ICE last year. He now works on Representative Anna Eskamani’s campaign team. Vallejos spoke with WLRN education reporter Natalie La Roche Pietri about his experience and what the policy change could mean for the next class of graduates.

WLRN’s Wilkine Brutus brings us the story of how one organization is channeling that energy into an educational transformation on the ground.

Republican Gubernatorial candidate Congressman Byron Donalds spoke with Florida A&M students about his plans if elected to office. The student led townhall is a part of a series to give students the chance to hear from candidates. WFSU's Alaijah Cross caught the action.

A bear hunt is scheduled in Florida for the end of this year, but some hunters on private lands are getting a head start. Randy Vuxta with WFSU’s Rural News Service reports that hunt started October first.
