Teacher shortage; Hope Across the Globe; Doug Pederson; Galentine’s Day

As Duval County Schools scramble to fill teacher shortages, some long-time educators say the job just isn’t worth the health risks anymore.

According to a new poll from the National Educators Association, 55% of teachers say they are leaving teaching earlier than they originally planned. Some teachers are even willing to give up hundreds of dollars off their monthly pension to retire early.

Today is National African American HIV and AIDS Awareness Day, and new efforts are underway to treat HIV and AIDS in North Florida. Hope Across the Globe, which treats HIV and AIDS patients, recently opened a new clinic in St. Augustine.
