Next school year, Florida high school students will learn money management. It’s a new law requiring ninth graders to take a class teaching them financial literacy. Bankruptcy court judges and attorneys around the state have been pushing for this change for years. April happens to be national financial literacy month.

This month, a new partnership will be launched between five nonprofit behavioral health care organizations that will allow Northeast Florida residents to register and attend free mental health training courses. Two of these courses are specifically focused on preventing suicide and elevating mental well-being for young people.

Tim Gilmore
This week, local author and professor Tim Gilmore debuts his new play "The Mad Atlas of Virginia King." The play is adapted from his 2015 book. The performance will be the fourth dramatic collaboration between Gilmore and Ken McCullough, who is DramaWorks director at Florida State College at Jacksonville. It will incorporate Virginia King’s original photography at the Wilson Center.
