Media roundtable; JME DJ Sessions

Today’s Media Roundtable discussed some of the top stories in the First Coast, including:

  • Vystar customers howled with frustration across social media all week as they dealt with a system outage that left them unable to check their accounts online or with the Vystar app.
  • In response to a controversial new Florida law, which critics call “Don’t Say Gay,” Duval County Public Schools are revising their LGBTQ+ Support Guide and stripping out almost all language that explicitly protects transgender students’ rights.
  • Former U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown has reached a plea deal to resolve her 6-year-old federal fraud charges without going through a second trial.
  • The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office’s public records request practices come under scrutiny after one local journalist is slapped with an $87,000 bill for her request.

JME DJ Sessions

Our team at the Jacksonville Music Experience is really busy these days covering all the latest music news from artists far and wide, including those making music right here in the 904. They’ve also been adding some of the best local cuts to rotation on The Independent 89.9 HD4, WJCT’s new music discovery station.

Matt Shaw, WJCT’s arts and culture editor, joined us with three local songs recently added to rotation on The Independent 89.9 HD4.
