Early voting polls

As early voting continues around the state, a new poll shows what could be a surprise outcome in the Democratic primary for governor.

UNF’s Public Opinion Research Lab shows gubernatorial candidate Nikki Fried ahead of Charlie Crist in the Democratic primary, but she's still seven points behind Republican incumbent Ron DeSantis in a head-to-head race among registered voters.

The polling lab also has new numbers out today on the Jacksonville sheriff’s race.

Guest: Mike Binder, UNF Public Opinion Research Lab.

MacKenzie Scott’s gift to Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement of North Florida is the latest nonprofit in the area to get a big check from one of America’s most noted philanthropists. The organization received a gift of $800,000 from MacKenzie Scott as part of a total of $38 million donated to Junior Achievement operations in 26 communities across the country. This is the largest gift from a single donor in the organization’s 103-year history.
